COMMENTS FROM DAARA PRESIDENT BILL WENDT: The blast from the past was just that...A BLAST! Our race co-ordinator Bill
McPeek put a great 2 day points meet event together..Sat. we had almost 50 cars! We had outstanding races that the crowd loved. Just as important, we had lots of good
fellowship, lots of fun and laughs, and several groups brought FOOD! That's getting to be part of our program...Having fun
together is what we want , second only to being safe..Some cars were not able to stay Sun. but we had a couple others show up
. Sun. show fell a little behind what we expected, a little longer for the great lunch the track provided, a little longer to
do the honors for the 60 and over drivers etc. In the end we were only about an hour behind what we had hoped for.This was
worth the extra time, as Citrus County went above and beyond to be kind to us and the whole thing was outstanding.
Speaking of above and beyond I would like to thank our Wisc. "cheese heads" Butch (not so much) and Liana(lots) for all
the fun and HELP they provided us this winter! These are great people, and outstanding DAARA supporters.
Two events with a combined car count of almost 150!!! DAARA is growing rapidly. Glad to have new members at only $35 per
year to what I think is the best vintage oval racing assn. in the nation.
Looking forward to the rest of our Southern Vintage Series events and the U.S. Vintage Oval Track Nationals.

warm..A wool cap has been sent to him so he can keep his boxer shorts clean so the shorts can be worn in the proper location..Also, what is it with the red

Photographers, Jamie Williams. Well Jamie just happened to be at New Smyrna during speedweeks taking pics of his favorite Modifieds, and happened to also
shoot some of the best photos of our cars at the modified reunion! Jamie also happened to capture the perfect recreatrion of Tobi Smith’s 2X on the inside
of Geoff Yoders 61 car in the exact pose seen here from 1972. Jamie also made all his pics not only in color but in Black and white for you vintage

This photo was sent in by Larry A. Moore of South Paris, Maine of Gene Bergin in the debut of the Bob Judkins 2X pinto at Oxford Plains Speedway in 1971..
Gene went on to win this race and that started the pinto revolution in NASCAR modifieds.
